USA: FERC to Prepare EA for Golden Pass LNG

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued a notice of its intent to prepare an environmental assessment (EA) which will discuss the environmental impacts that could result from the construction and operation of the Golden Pass LNG Export Project in Texas and Louisiana.

The LNG project has been proposed by Golden Pass Products and Golden Pass Pipeline. If developed, the project would represent an investment of approximately $10 billion, and is expected to create about 45,000 direct and indirect jobs in the U.S.

The EA will be used by the commission in its decision-making process to determine whether construction and operation of the LNG project is in the public convenience and necessity.
