USA: Fugro to Showcase at AWEA's Offshore WINDPOWER 2012

Following Fugro Renewable Services’ successful attendance at the Husum WindEnergy exhibition two weeks ago, the multidisciplinary team is back on the road and looking forward to introducing their latest developments at not one but two trade shows next week. Fugro will be exhibiting at: American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) annual Offshore Wind conference and exhibition (October 9-11) in Virginia Beach, VA, USA and SeaTech Week (October 8-12), in Brest, France.

“With attendance across the globe it is set to be a busy week,” says Tony Hodgson, Global Business Development Manager of Fugro Renewable Services. “But we are all ready to go and the teams in France and North America are really looking forward to telling our visitors about our latest developments and projects, especially our new ‘Inclinocam’ service which was launched at Husum WindEnergy Exhibition.”

The ‘Inclinocam’ represents the latest technological development for the Group; it is a real-time inclination monitoring service supporting smart, safe offshore mono-pile installations. This system has been designed to be compact and easily deployed and was very well received at the German wind energy conference.

Further developments this year have included the delivery in June of the first of two ‘state-of-the-art’ high performance Q1400 trenching systems and the launch of the Group’s new SEAWATCH Wind LiDAR Buoy representing the next generation of multi-purpose buoys tailored for the renewable energy industry.

“We have a lot to tell people about, and not only our technological innovations,” says Sally McNeilan, Business Development Manager of Fugro Atlantic based in Norfolk, VA, USA. “In North America Fugro has been involved with the first detailed Geotechnical and Geophysical investigations for Cape Wind in Nantucket Sound. The project is a very exciting one not least because Cape Wind will be one of the first offshore American wind farms. We are delighted to be able to bring our experience across from Europe and support in the development of this historic wind farm. ”

Fugro Renewable Services has extensive in-field experience providing detailed analyses of the seabed and accurate assessments of operational conditions for offshore wind farm sites. They have worked as active partners in the design and installation of foundations and infrastructure on numerous projects around the world.

This year alone they have been involved with projects from Germany to the UK, Sweden to the USA with activities encompassing many vital elements of development, engineering and installation services.
