USA: SCOD Presents First Leap to Zero Greenline Ferry

SCOD Presents World’s First Leap to Zero Greenline Ferry

The competitive advantage of the Greenline Ferry lies in its ‘Leap to Zero’ performance.

Till now no other design for an Excursion Ferry has succeeded in assembling the available technology that can deliver a 50 to 100% reduction in fuel consumption, a savings that more than pays for the construction of the Greenline Ferry over its service life.

Richard Sauter head of Sauter Carbon Offset Design commented; “Considering that the America’s Cup is founded on a carbon free maritime legacy, It’s only fitting that spectators viewing from day trip ferries should have the opportunity to revel in nature’s bounty as well”.

LEAP TO ZERO PERFORMANCE

Energy harnessed from the Leap to Zero Greenline Ferry’s PV exoskeleton and turbine props is either returned to the grid, used immediately or stored in batteries. On overcast low wind day trip excursions the .5MW UPS and automated Dynawing sails are capable of maintaining a minimum Zero Carbon cruising speed of 12 knots.

For sunset or evening excursions the Greenline Ferry relies on her Hybrid Eco Marine Propulsion motors that comply with EPA “on road” regulations which qualifies them as the cleanest marine engines available today.

TECHNOLOGY THAT’S HERE NOW

The realization of the Leap to Zero Greenline Ferry is made possible by well established readily available technology that exists in the maritime industry.

SHIPYARDS

Light weight wave piercing Marine grade Aluminum catamaran hulls that reduces fuel consumption by 25+% built by Leading shipyards like Bollinger, Kvichak, Austal and others.

STATE OF THE ART PROPULSION

Counter Rotating Propeller Pods that reduces fuel consumption by up to 15% supplied by ZF, CMD and Volvo Penta .

EPA ON ROAD POWER

EPA on road Hybrid Power technology that reduces fuel consumption by up to 30% and GHG emissions by over 80% supplied by Eco Marine Propulsion.

DYNAWING WIND POWER

Wing Mast Mainsails that reduces fuel consumption by up to 20% supplied by Carbon Works, Scaled Composites and Core Builders Composites..

MAXIMUM SOLAR POWER HARVESTING & STORAGE

Solbian Marine Solar Panels that reduces fuel consumption by up to 10% These solar panels are rated up to 30% efficiency due to better cooling and the abundance of reflective magnified light at sea. Solbian walk over, light weight flexible solar panels have the highest output and come with a 25 year SunPower warrantee.

A Plug-in 500KW Battery system that stores or returns to the grid renewable energy harnessed from the Sun, Wind and Currents.
