UTF Partners with GCE Subsea on Underwater Technology Conference

UTF and GCE Subsea have signed a long-term collaboration agreement to further develop the Underwater Technology Conference (UTC) in Bergen.

GCE Subsea is an industry driven initiative for strengthening and internationalisation of businesses, research and education for the Norwegian subsea industry. The Underwater Technology Foundation (UTF) is an independent entity aspiring to provide more insight into the subsea industry in our region.

“This is a very important agreement for the Norwegian subsea industry and with this agreement we will strengthen the development of UTC as the world’s top professional subsea conference,” says Owe Hagesæther, CEO at GCE Subsea.

“The agreement is important to strengthen collaboration, effort and focus on further development of subsea technology. Furthermore, it helps unite and further evolve the world leading subsea industry that we have in Norway,” says Tor Willgohs Knudsen, chairman of UTF and senior advisor Subsea Technology in Statoil.

Chairman of GCE Subsea, Tove Ormevik, says: “For our partner and member companies in GCE Subsea, this agreement will further enhance the promotion of an important industry, while ensuring that one of the industry’s largest conferences are held in western Norway with the international engagement and attention this implies.”
