VARD Tulcea Launches CSV Normand Reach

VARD Tulcea in Romania today launched the hull of what will become the Solstad Offshore’s new state-of-the-art construction service vessel (CSV), the Normand Reach (NB 825).

As planned, the hull will now be moved to the VARD’s Aukra yard (Norway) for final outfitting.

The new vessel is 121 meters long, 23 meters wide and has a working deck of approximately 1,300 square meters. The vessel will be equipped with a subsea crane with 250 ton lifting capacity.

The vessel has accommodation for 100 people and is designed according to the latest environmental standards with focus on comfort and fuel consumption, and complies with DNV’s Clean Design notation.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 2Q 2014.
