VIDEO: Anthem of the Seas Floated Out

Royal Caribbean’s cruise ship Anthem of the Seas, under construction at German shipyard Meyer Verft, left the covered building dock of the shipyard on Saturday, February 21th, 2015.

The 168.600-gt cruise ship Anthem of the Seas, one of the largest cruise ships in the world, left the building dock around 01:00 pm, the shipyard said.

Following the float-out, the Anthem of the Seas will be berthed alongside the yard’s pier for one night, before being turned on in the yard’s harbour for the thruster and stabiliser tests.

With the ship berthed at the yard’s pier, the remaining interior works as well as tests and trials will be carried out on board until the ship’s conveyance down the river Ems to the North Sea, which is scheduled for mid of March.

Float-out of the Anthem of the Seas comes 15 months after its keel laying in November 2013.

Once it has commenced service, the Anthem of the Seas will sail with its 4,100 passengers from Southampton (England) to Norway and the Mediterranean, before making its way from Fort Lauderdale (Florida) to the Caribbean in winter 2015.
