VIDEO: Maersk Supply’s second Starfish vessel coming together

Norwegian shipbuilder Kleven Verft has posted a video on YouTube last week showing Maersk Supply Services’ new vessel coming together.

The vessel under construction is one of five remaining Starfish vessels being built for Danish company Maersk Supply Service. The video, created in a time-lapse fashion, shows three months of assembly in two minutes.

According to specs, the new vessel No. 386, as well as the rest of the vessel series, is of the Salt 200 AHTS designed by Salt Ship Design.

The entire Starfish fleet will be identical with 95 meters in length, 25 meters in width, an ROV garage for one ROV Launch and Recovery System (LARS) with a built-in ROV control room as well as accommodation for 52 persons.

One of the six Starfish vessels has already been delivered to Maersk Supply under the name Maersk Master.

The entire series was supposed to be delivered between the fourth quarter of 2016 and the third quarter of 2017. However, the Maersk Master was delivered in March this year while the delivery of all five remaining Starfish vessels should happen during 2017.
