Teekay Corporation currently has seven MEGI LNG carriers in various stages of build at the South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME).

This includes the third vessel in the series the 173,000-cbm Torben Spirit, that has a scheduled delivery of February 2017.

However, Teekay LNG is currently pursuing employment opportunities for the vessel and will decide in late-2016 on whether to defer the delivery.

Earlier in July, the company reached an agreement with DSME to defer the delivery of its unchartered MEGI LNG carrier to December 2017.

The company has already taken delivery of two MEGI LNG carriers, the Creole Spirit and the Oak Spirit, with both vessels already in service under a five-year charter agreement with Cheniere Energy.

The company added that it has two additional MEGI LNG newbuilds on order at the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard.

The construction progress of the Torben Spirit can be viewed in the video below.
