Video: the construction of DEME’s second LNG-fueled dredger

Dutch shipbuilder and maritime equipment supplier, Royal IHC, recently launched two LNG-fueled trailing suction hopper dredgers it had built for the Belgian company DEME.

The first vessel, the Minerva, was launched at the beginning of December last year, while the second vessel, the Scheldt River, was launched earlier this month.

With an overall length of 115.9 meters and a breadth of 25 meters, Scheldt River has a hopper capacity of 7,950 cubic meters. The Minerva TSHD has the hopper capacity of 3,500-cbm.

IHC on Thursday released a video showing the process of the construction of the Scheldt River at IHC’s shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, The Netherlands.
