Dung Quat Shipbuilding Hosts Deputy Prime Minister

In the morning of 12th April, 2012, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh paid a visit to Dung Quat Shipbuilding Industry Company (DQS). At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi – Chairman of the Company has reported to Deputy Prime Minister business production results in 2011 and the first quarter of 2012.

After transferred to Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, DQS has stabilized the organization structure and process business efficiently. So far, DQS has repaired and handed over many products such as Vietsovpetro 05 barge, Sao Mai 01 Vessel, Sao Mai 03 Vessel, Ba Vi Vessel, PVTrans Eagle vessel, Horizon Express Vessel, Hoang Sa crane Barge, Con Son Crane Vessel, Truong Sa crane Vessel… DQS has successfully launched 104,000 DWT crude oil Tanker and will hand over to PV Trans shipowner in 05/2012. Following the policy of the Group, DQS has consider to cancel some projects as Van Tuong Trade Center, Sailors club, Golf course, Doc Soi project; stop investment to Dung Quat Shipyard Project Stage II, which save thousands of billion. DQS Leaders has made an effort to create jobs, stable income to and employees with an average income of more than 6 million VND / person / month.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh highly appreciates DQS continues effort to overcome difficulty. The Government has currently built ship development strategies to help people to go to the sea with two goals of stabilizing people’s lives and preserve national sovereignty islands. Therefore, DQS need to know the State’s strategy for developing, gradually overcome difficulty. Deputy Prime Minister suggested DQS Leaders should review and reorient production scale in the coming time. Minimize the damage of the old troubles. To develop effectively new strategy without loss. Deputy Prime Minister also pledged to create favorable conditions for DQS to freeze the old debt, allow DQS to manipulate some policy like Vinashin restructuring to overcome difficulty.
