VNG Gets Approval to Drill Pil and Blue Wells (Norway)

VNG Norge AS has received consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to carry out exploration drilling of wells 6406/12-3 S and A (Pil and Bue) in production licence 586 in the Norwegian Sea using the Transocean Arctic semi-submersible rig.

Water depth at the site is 324 metres. These prospects are located about 34 kilometres south-south-west of the Njord A-platform and 61 kilometres south-west of the Draugen-platform.

Drilling is expected to begin in November 2013, with a duration of 53 days, depending on whether a discovery is made.

Transocean Arctic is operated by Transocean Offshore (North Sea) Ltd NUF. The facility received Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in July 2004.
