VRA to sign gas supply agreements with four companies
The Volta River Authority of Ghana is about to sign gas supply agreements with four companies to meet the demand for gas needed for the running of its thermal plants.
The four companies are ND Western, Network Oil, Constant Capital and Sahara Oil, reports B&FT.
A long-term gas supply deal has also been agreed with Gasol. Under the agreement Gasol will forward LNG received from Nigeria to Ghana, that needs gas to power its largest electric power generator. It has been agreed that Gasol should supply 100 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
These deals have been seen as a major boost as the electricity demand rises.
