Vroon takes delivery of AHTS VOS Challenge

According to the company, the vessel left Fujian Southeast Shipyard (FSES) in Fuzhou, China on Thursday, June 23 at the start of her journey to Thailand, where she will be delivered to charterers PTTEP.

VOS Challenge, a 65m AHTS vessel, is the first in a new series of six such vessels under construction at the shipyard for Vroon. The vessel was designed by Khiam Chuan Marine, and Vroon’s Performance and Engineering Department worked together with KCM to enhance vessel capabilities.

The company noted that VOS Challenge boasts DP2 capabilities, 39 beds for crew and personnel, improved noise and vibration enhancements, 425m2 clear deck area and anchor-handling/towing winches of 1,500m x 64mm.

On arrival in Thailand, the vessel will work for PTTEP in the Arthit and Bongkot fields, where it will primarily support drilling activities. Duties will include anchor-handling, towing and supply operations.

The vessel will be managed by Vroon Offshore Services Singapore.
