Watchdogs approve Skangas’ Risavika LNG plant acquisition

Skangas, a unit of Gasum, informed that the acquisition of the Risavika LNG production plant from Lyse Group has been approved by the competition authorities of Sweden and Norway.

With the acquisition of the Risavika facility, revealed in March, Skangas is looking to increase its presence in the downstream of the LNG value chain, the company’s statement reads.

The Risavika production plant has an annual production capacity of 300,000 tonnes of LNG, with a 30,000 cbm storage tank. The acquisition also includes the LNG marine bunkering facility, according to Skangas.

Gasum acquired the majority of the Norwegian Skangas’s distribution operations from the Lyse Group in 2014, with the transaction including a purchase option of the Risavika LNG production plant.
