WBDDP: Strong Attendance at BBQ (Australia)

Strong Attendance at BBQ

The Gladstone community learnt first hand about the Western Basin Dredging and Disposal Project (WBDDP) in Gladstone this week.

More than 140 people attended Gladstone Ports Corporation’s WBDDP BBQ update held at CQ University to speak to the people directly involved in the dredging project currently underway in the Gladstone Harbour.

Gladstone Ports Corporation CEO Leo Zussino who attended the BBQ update said there is a lot of misinformation about the project and the BBQ update gives the chance for Gladstone locals to find out the correct information.

The GPC has always been and will always remain open and accountable to the public,” Mr Zussino said.

“These types of community forums give the chance for the public to find out more about the project and meet the people involved.”

Gladstone Mayor Gail Sellers and all the Gladstone councillors attended the BBQ as well as Independent Member for Gladstone Liz Cunningham.

The turn-out from the Gladstone community was fantastic and shows the community’s social engagement with the project is as strong as ever,” Mr Zussino added.
