Weekly U.S. offshore rig count stays flat

U.S. weekly offshore rig count remained unchanged for the second week in a row, according to rig count reports by the oilfield services provider Baker Hughes.


BHI Rig Count: U.S. +13 to 637 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 13 rigs from last week to 637, with oil rigs up 12 to 510, gas rigs up 1 to 126, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 1.

U.S. Rig Count is down 72 rigs from last year’s count of 709, with oil rigs down 31, gas rigs down 42, and miscellaneous rigs up 1.

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is unchanged from last week at 22 and down 2 rigs year over year.

BHI Rig Count: Canada +4 to 234 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is up 4 rigs from last week to 234, with oil rigs down 1 to 116, gas rigs up 4 to 116, and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 2.

Canadian Rig Count is up 72 rigs from last year’s count of 162, with oil rigs up 45, gas rigs up 25, and miscellaneous rigs up 2.
