Wheatstone contract goes to Neptune

Neptune Marine Services said it has secured a saturation diving manning services contract by Technip in Oceania on Chevron’s US$29 billion Wheatstone LNG project in Australia.

The contract includes the provision of saturation diving manning services to assist with the project spool installation.

Works are due to commence in the third quarter of this year, Neptune said in a statement.

The Wheatstone foundation project includes two LNG trains with a combined capacity of 8.9 million tonnes per annum and a domestic gas plant.

The LNG export plant, which will be fed by four offshore gas fields, is being built 12 kilometres west of Onslow in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.
