Wood Group Mustang Gets New VP LNG

Charles Durr, P.E., has joined Wood Group Mustang as vice president – LNG. In this capacity, he will lead the company’s LNG business and strategy for providing technology-neutral development options and solutions and build upon its existing resume of LNG experience and expertise in liquefaction, regasification and PMC services.

Durr joins Wood Group Mustang from KBR, where he served more than 40 years in a variety of domestic and international engineering, senior management and consulting positions, including vice president, LNG, GTL and Gas Processing Technology. He has worked on numerous major LNG projects around the world inlocations such as Algeria, Nigeria, Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Canada, Peru and Yemen. Many of these included multiple phases.

During his career, he has worked in all project phases, from bidding through studies, pre-FEED, FEED, EPC execution, startup and performance testing and with all major LNG process technologies. In addition he has worked on LNG terminals in 12 countries and numerous FLNG studies and proposals.

Durr has authored or co-authored more than 80 industry technical papers and holds eight patents in gas processing and LNG technologies. He is a regular participant in Gas Processors Association, Gas Technology Institute and the International Gas Union.

He is on the program committee for the LNG series of conferences with the most recent one being LNG 17 where he will co-chair a workshop on innovation. He also is on the governing board of Gastech where he has chaired sessions and presented many papers.

Durr holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in chemical engineering from Manhattan College, New York, and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.
