Australian LNG operator Woodside posted a higher sales revenue in the second quarter of this year as its Pluto LNG export plant achieved a record production.

Sales revenue rose 5.1 percent on year to US$867 million in the quarter, as higher realised prices offset a 3.8 decline in sales volume.

Australia’s biggest independent oil and gas producer reported a 6.8 percent fall in oil and gas output in the quarter under review to 20.7 million barrels of oil equivalent (mmboe).

The company’s Pluto LNG project achieved daily and weekly production records, 3 percent higher than the previous records, after successfully completing a cold high-rate trial.

“The cold high-rate trial demonstrated additional capacity in the LNG train and will inform decision-making on expansion options for Pluto LNG,” Woodside said.
