Woodside: Update on Browse LNG Development Land Access (Australia)

Woodside acknowledges the Western Australian Government’s decision to proceed with the compulsory acquisition of land required for the State’s Browse LNG Precinct. Woodside is the foundation commercial proponent at the Precinct.

The State’s decision to acquire the land will maintain the opportunity for a negotiated outcome to be secured with Traditional Owners, while providing a greater degree of certainty for the development.

We remain committed to delivering the benefits we have promised during our discussions with the Kimberley Land Council and Native Title claimants.

These initiatives are worth in excess of A$1 billion over the life of the development and are among the most substantial commitments a development has made to support Indigenous people.

The Browse LNG Development is on track to complete its A$1.25 billion work program between now and mid 2012, in order to be ready to make a final investment decision.
