Xodus nets Grain LNG contract

Xodus Group on Thursday said it has won a design and engineering services framework agreement for UK’s Grain LNG terminal, located on the Isle of Grain, Kent.

Under the three-year deal, Xodus will provide a range of engineering input from feasibility and conceptual capabilities to front-end engineering and design (FEED) and detailed engineering to enhance and expand Grain LNG’s services, company’s statement reveals.

Xodus, in which Chiyoda Corp. is a major shareholder, has already completed projects for Grain LNG prior to the framework agreement, the company added.

National Grid’s Grain LNG terminal has an annual regasification capacity of 15 million tons which is equivalent to 20 percent of the United Kingdom’s gas demand. The facility’s storage tanks can store up to 1 million cubic meters of LNG and its two jetties are capable of receiving carriers with the capacity of up to 266,000 cbm.

The electricity and gas company added a truck loading facility at the Grain LNG terminal in November and plans to expand the facility as the market demand rises.
