Yangzhou Guoyu Nets Massive Bulker Deal

Yangzhou Guoyu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Guoyu Shipyard) has entered into shipbuilding contracts with Pioneer Maritime for the construction of eight 38,800 DWT bulk carriers.

These 38,800 dwt ships are to based on the Green Dolphin design, created by the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI), reports Sinoshipnews.

The Green Dolphin concept design is a five-cargo-hold CSR double-hull bulk carrier that meets current and future expected air and water emissions regulations. The hull design has been a combined effort by SDARI and DNV. The design aims to be fuel-efficient and maintenance–friendly, with high operational flexibility.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 2015 and 2016.
