Yangzijiang Secures USD 578 Mn Worth of New Deals in May

Chinese builder Yangzijiang Shipbuilding secured up to USD 578 million worth of new shipbuilder contract during May 2018.

The company said that it signed nine effective orders during the month, under which it was hired to construct five 12,000 TEU containerships, two 208,000 dwt and another two 82,000 dwt bulk carriers.

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding informed that the total of nine new effective contracts secured are scheduled for deliveries in year 2020 to 2021.

These orders are not expected to have any significant impact on the earnings of the group for the financial year ending December 31, 2018.

So far this year, the shipbuilder secured a total of eighteen effective contracts with an aggregate contract value of USD 846 million.
