ZIM Unveils Upgraded Transpacific Network

Israel’s shipping company Zim Integrated Shipping Services (ZIM) has launched a new service linking Asia and the Pacific Northwest and presented a revised coverage on the Transpacific route, scheduled to start in April 2017.

The ZIM North Pacific (ZNP) service will connect major ports in South East Asia and China to the Vancouver gateway, according to the company. Additionally, the new service will offer expanded coverage of Asian ports in terms of both export and import.

Port rotation of the ZNP service will be as follows:  Port Kelang (Malaysia), Cai Mep (Vietnam), Da Chan Bay,  Yantian, Xiamen, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai (China), Busan (South Korea), Vancouver (Canada), Busan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Da Chan Bay, Port Kelang.

The company said that the ZNP service joins ZIM’s Transpacific network, which also includes ZIM Container Service Pacific (ZCP) and ZIM Seven Star Service (Z7S).

The ZCP links Shanghai and Busan to US South Atlantic, Gulf and Caribbean clusters.

The upgraded port rotation of the ZCP service will be as follows: Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai (China), Busan (South Korea), Rodman, Panama Canal (Panama), Kingston, Savannah, Norfolk, New York (USA), Halifax (Canada), Kingston, Qingdao.

In addition, ZIM said that its Z7S service will resume full-scale activity, connecting South China, South East Asia and the Indian sub-continent to the US East Coast main ports, including Maher terminal in New Year.

The Z7S service will link the following ports: Da Chan Bay, Yantian (China), Cai Mep (Vietnam), Port Kelang (Malaysia), Colombo (Sri Lanka), New York, Norfolk, Savannah (USA), Port Kelang, Da Chan Bay.

ZIM did not indicate that the latest changes are linked to any vessel sharing agreements (VSAs).
