The 60 x 35 x 85 m jacket, weighing 8.500t, is being built by Heerema for Technip as a part of the platform which will be installed in the Danish sector of the North Sea at the Dong Energy-operated Hejre oil field.

The jacket is expected to be installed at the North Sea location early in the summer this year.

Danish Dong Energy is developing the Hejre field in partnership with Germany’s Bayern Gas. The total investment in the development of the Hejre field is DKK 12.1 billion (USD 2.2 billion).

DONG Energy estimates the total reserves of the Hejre field at approximately 170 million barrels of oil equivalents – DONG Energy’s share is approx. 100 million barrels – and expects first oil and gas from late 2015.
The development comprises a production platform, drilling of production wells and new pipelines that will be tied into existing North Sea pipelines.

From here, the oil and gas from Hejre will be transported to mainland Denmark.
