Bulk Carrier ‘Vera’ Sinks Off Turkey

 

Cambodia-flagged bulk carrier Vera sank in the Black Sea off Turkey on Tuesday, January 31, Reuters reports.

The Vessel was sailing from Russia to Turkey and sank in a storm one mile off the Zonguldak port.

Turkish coast guards have rescued three crew members and are still searching for eight other missing members.

The vessel had 11 crew members on board, of which 10 were the citizens of Ukraine.

The Bosphorus Straits was closed to all vessels on Tuesday due to extreme weather and snow storms.
