CIC Changxing Shipyard Completes Repair Works on MV Heloise

After two weeks of hard work, CIC Changxing Shipyard completed all the repair works of M.V. Heloise, the vessel departed shipyard on the February 20th, 2012.

The subject vessel is a bulk carrier. The vessel arrived at the yard on the 4th of Feb. Main scope of work was the general docking repair and the sandblasting of cargo holds. After the inspection, the yard found there were 50 m2 shell plates and 30m-long bilge keel to be renewed. Meeting the yard’s production department at once held a meeting to arrange the working schedule. The following problems were the bad rainy weather and the low temperature. Since it was very difficult to meet the standard of welding when the staff dealt with welding work below 0°c. It was easy to have cracks on the welding seams. All the workers and managers tried their best to complete this task to meet the requirement of the owners and the surveyors.

With the joint efforts of all shipyard’s staff, M.V. Heloise was redelivered successfully.
