Faroe Maritime Technic Appoints New Distributor in UK

Faroe Maritime Technic Announces New Distributor in UK

As part of Faroe Maritime Technic’s expansion plans the Company announced the appointment of Oil Conveyer Limited (OCL) as partner and distributor for the UK and Ireland.

OCL will be working alongside its sister company Pumpseal, a long established and experienced supplier of pumps, motors and oil water separator products into the marine industry.

Based in the major port of Southampton and headed by Group Managing Director Trevor Green, himself an experienced Marine Engineer, OCL is well positioned to service the many thousands of ships that use the port facilities every year.

The oil conveyor was developed by Faroe Maritime Technic to meet the requirement for a environmental friendly and cost effective solution for the removal of oil from ships bilges.

Oil and other contaminants are removed from the bilge by the Oil Conveyor prior to being passed to the vessels oil water separator system and pumped overboard. Results show that discharged water contains 2 – 4 PPM of contaminant, well within the current requirement of 15 PPM and less than the planned future requirement for 5 PPM.

Benefits include:

– Reduced maintenance and filter consumption in the oil water separator – typically two thirds.

– Reduction in cost of tankers to remove contaminated bilge water.

– Possibility to re-sell oil after removal from the oil water separator.

Quote from Trevor Green:

‘The Oil Conveyor provides a fantastic opportunity for the shipping industry to reduce costs whilst recognising its obligations and demonstrating the ability to comply with strict environmental legislation. OCL are very excited to be a part of this new and innovative product’
