NTA Supports Dubai Maritime Week 2012

The National Transport Authority (NTA) has announced its full support for the first-ever Dubai Maritime Week 2012, to be held in November 2012 in Dubai.

The NTA’s support highlights the critical role of the event in strengthening the UAE’s position as a regional and global trade and economic hub, and in showcasing the country’s ability to host prestigious international conferences and events.

H.E. Salem Al Zaabi, Acting Director-General of the National Transport Authority: “Our support for the Dubai Maritime Week 2012 is in line with our belief in its importance and positive impact on the maritime sector in the UAE. This event validates the UAE’s ability to host top events in the maritime industry and to keep pace with rapid developments at all levels.”

Dubai Maritime Week 2012, which is being jointly organised with the collaboration of several strategic partners from Dubai Government, will host a number of maritime industry-related activities and events such as conferences, panel discussions and forums, as well as public-oriented activities to celebrate Dubai’s maritime heritage.

Al Zaabi added: “This event serves as an interactive platform dedicated to building and strengthening strategic relationships, as it brings together under one roof all professionals, associations, experts, suppliers in the maritime sector and ship owners in the region. We at the National Transport Authority are pleased to support this important and first-of-its-kind event in Dubai.”

The Dubai Maritime Week 2012 is being organized through the close cooperation between Dubai Maritime City Authority and Seatrade. The upcoming Seatrade Middle East Maritime

Exhibition & Conference 2012 – which will be part of Dubai Maritime Week 2012 – will host a number of international companies including suppliers of equipment, modern technologies and specialized services. On the sidelines of these events, DMCA, in collaboration with its strategic allies, will hold a number of activities and special events, in addition to a series of programs aimed at increasing awareness about the important role of the maritime sector in the emirate.
