China: CIC Changxing Shipyard Redelivers Pontotrtion

On the middle of August, 2012, the bulk carrier “Pontotrtion” repaired by CIC Changxing Shipyard smoothly departed from the yard’s premises, which took a successful end for her special survey project.

The vessel is a capsize bulk carrier managed by a historical Greek shipping company. Her main work scope was the first special survey and the treatment of hull & nine cargo holds. The owner was quite familiar with Chinese ship repair market and they took great care of the repair quality and period. In order to ensure the timely delivery and win the owner’s approval, the shipyard paid high attention to the repair project by arranging the capable ship repair team and making a scientific schedule. The yard erected the staging for the cargo hold treatment according to the actual sandblasting area. By this way, it shortened the time of the staging erection and reduced the cost comparing with the normal full erection of the staging.

The shipyard won the owner’s approval for high repair quality and service. Furthermore, both parties have established a good cooperative relationship.
