Drydocks World Hosts Delegation of UAE Armed Forces

Drydocks World, the leading ship repair, conversion, new building and offshore construction shipyard in the Middle East, announced today that it received a senior-level delegation from General Head Quarters of the UAE Armed Forces.

Members of the delegation, which included officers from UAE Navy and CICPA met Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman of Drydocks World and Maritime World and discussed various aspects related to the company’s business including education and training within the industry.

Commenting on the meetings Mr. Buamim said, “We welcome the opportunity for discussing close co-operation with the UAE Armed Forces especially in areas of mutual interest and are willing to share and initiate education and training programs of relevance and interest to Armed Forces personnel. This will help further strengthen our mutual relationship as we are already offering repair and maintenance services to vessels belonging to the UAE Navy and have concluded several significant projects.

The team toured the Drydocks World and Dubai Maritime City (DMC) facilities and reviewed various facilities like ship repair and maintenance, new build, conversion, various technical divisions, technical training and ongoing projects. The team affirmed interest to work together with training department in future and was appreciative of the scope and scale of the company’s operations. The members were provided with extensive guidance on various aspects of the business by senior technical personnel from Drydocks World and DMC.
