HTS Hands Over Supramax Bulker POS AZURIT

Jiangsu Hantong Shipyard (HTS) named and delivered the last 57.000 DWT bulk carrier (Hull No.:HT061) which was built for CONTI, on November 8th 2012. The vessel, named POS AZURIT and classed by LR, is a new type of supramax bulker optimised to burn less fuel oil.

The efficiency improvements have been achieved by carrying out a number of changes including: derating the main engine, a new propeller design which has been optimised for the derated engine, and fitting a mewis duct. The shipyard accomplished various testing programs for the vessel, meeting all the requirements of ship owners and the class.

Draught – 13.1 m

From the first steel cut to the delivery, it took HTS 257 days to build POS AZURIT.
