CIC Lixin Shipyard to Repair 'Professor Khlustin'

The vessel “Professor Khlustin” arrived at CIC Lixin Shipyard at the end of Dec 2012. The vessel, owned by the Russian Federation, is a multi-purpose training cargo ship.

The vessel has been laid up since 2005, and thus the repair scope this time is relatively large, including overhauling of the main engine and three auxiliary engines, boiler, over 30 pcs of various pumps, three generators, and over 40 pcs of various motors, etc., routine dry-docking repair, and some accommodation outfitting jobs.

CIC Lixin Shipyard has paid great attention to the repair, and arranged senior ship staff for related work.

The shipyard’s staff had inspected all the work scope on spot, and then made a detailed repair plan, which was continuously improved and coordinated along with the repair progress, concentrating on main and key items, and consulting on all minor details. According to the ultra-sonic thickness measurement report and requirement of Class Surveyor, the area of bottom plate renewal was over 120 square meters, and the shipyard had taken prompt action to implement more labour forces.
