Sinopacific to Build State-of-the-Art LNG Carriers for Evergas

Evergas has entered into shipbuilding contracts with Sinopacific Offshore and Engineering, China for the construction of state-of-the-art medium sized LNG carriers in the size of 27.500 cbm for delivery in 2015.

The new vessels have already been chartered for long-term employment. Evergas has secured 15-year shipping agreements with INEOS Europe for the transportation of ethane into Europe from the US Mariner East project.

The new vessels, that will enter into service in 2015, are tailored to meet the specific needs of this project and will be built to the latest specifications matching highest environmental and efficiency performance measures.

Up to 12 newbuildings of 12-17.000 m3 are under construction for Evergas and will be delivered as from early 2013. Six fully pressurized vessels of 5.000 m3 have been successfully delivered so far.
