SPP Shipbuilding Delivers Another Tanker to Pemex

Mexican oil giant Pemex has taken delivery of the third, out of four ordered, 50.000 DWT Oil/Chemical Tanker, named Texistepec, from SPP Shipbuilding Group, South Korea.

The vessel, designed to meet the highest environmental and technology standards, has capacity to carry up to 320,000 barrels of fuel and will increase the existing capacity of PEMEX fleet, currently consisting of 19 vessels, 14 of which operate in the Mexican Pacific and the remaining five in the Gulf of Mexico.

As Globalpost reports, the vessel will be used to deliver fuel to the terminals in the Pacific port cities of Acapulco, Lazaro Cardens, Manzanillo, Mazatlan, Topolobampo, Guaymas, La Paz and Rosarito.

The fourth and final ship Raramuri, ordered from SPP Shipbuilding, is scheduled for delivery on April 20.
