Navibulgar Adds Second-Hand Bulker

Business & Finance

Bulgarian shipping company Navibulgar has welcomed into its fleet m/v Persenk, built in October 2010 at the Chengxi Shipyard Jiangyin, China.

The bulk carrier was previously bare-boat chartered by Chinese shipping company Cosco Bulk Carrier.

The vessel is a sister ship of m/v Belmeken, which Navibulgar took over in April 2015 in Shanghai, China.

This is the latest acquisition within Navibulgar’s fleet modernization efforts.

Last year the company signed a contract with the Chinese shipyard for the construction of four bulk carriers (plus two optional) with a deadweight of 42,300 tons. The construction of the fifth and sixth vessel of the series was also confirmed.

During her first voyage with Bulgarian crew, the Maltese-flagged m/v Persenk will call three Chinese loading ports and then head to the Mediterranean region, the company said.
