Vietnam: HVS Celebrates Naming Ceremony for Bulk Carrier NORD AUCKLAND

 

On April 26, 2011, HVS celebrated the naming ceremony for 37K bulk carrier to be named “Nord Auckland”, the 3rd ship in the series of 6 ships ordered by Norden A/S, Denmark.

Attending the ceremony, there are not only HVS BOD, representatives of ship owners, class but also the presents of Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang – Chairman of KHPC and his wife, especially Mr. John Nielsen – Ambassador of Denmark in Vietnam and his wife – Mrs. Charlotte Nielsen playing the role as the vessel’s sponsor .

In connection with Shipyards production schedule, the vessel will be delivered to the buyer on May 11th, 2011. HVS is doing its utmost to achieve annual target of building 11 ships this year.

Since its establishment in 1996, Hyundai-Vinashin Shipyard (HVS) has successfully repaired and converted around 967 various types of ships including 23 conversion projects. To make ready for transferring to shipbuilding business in August 2008, HVS has considerably invested more than 102 million USD to equip the modern facilities and equipments to meet the shipbuilding technical requirements.
