The first time charter contract was signed with Hong Kong-based Ausca Shipping Limited for M/V Myrsini, a Kamsarmax bulker.

As informed, the gross charter rate for the 2010-built ship is USD 11,500 per day for a period of thirteen to about fifteen months, lower than the vessel’s previous charter rate of USD 12,750 per day with Glencore.

The new charter for the 82,117 dwt dry bulk vessel is expected to commence on December 4, 2019.

In addition, Diana Shipping entered into a time charter with Singapore’s Koch Shipping for the M/V Artemis, a 2006-built Panamax vessel.

The gross charter rate for the 76,942 dwt bulk carrier is USD 10,150 per day for a period of about nine to eleven months. The gross charter rate is again lower when compared to Artemis’ previous charter rate of USD 12,600 per day with Ausca Shipping.

The new charter commenced on November 28, 2019.

Diana Shipping’s fleet currently comprises 42 dry bulk vessels with a combined carrying capacity of about 5.2 million dwt and a weighted average age of 9.41 years.
