The Netherlands: SBM Offshore Announces Appointment to Supervisory Board

SBM Offshore N.V. is pleased to announce that the Supervisory Board will make a non-binding proposal at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders to be held on 5 May 2011 at 2.30 p.m. in Rotterdam to appoint Mrs. K.A. Rethy as a member of the Supervisory Board for a term of 4 years.

Mrs. K.A. Rethy (Canadian, born 1956) is President of KAR Development Corporation, a consulting company and a director of Equitable Trust Company, a financial institution and of Katimavik, a leading not-for-profit organisation in Montreal where she is vice-chairman of the board. Mrs. K.A. Rethy held senior management positions in DuPont Canada Inc. and with Falconbridge Ltd., a mining company, where she was Senior Vice President, Global Services and Enterprise Risk Management until the company’s acquisition by Xstrata Plc. in 2006. Mrs. K.A. Rethy is a lawyer by education, obtained an MBA from York University and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Leadership for Sustainability at the University of Lancaster (U.K.).
