J+S Launches Subsea Repair Joint in London, UK

Barnstaple and Aberdeen based engineering firm J+S recently returned from exhibiting at the Global Offshore Wind Conference and Exhibition at the Excel Centre in London. This is the first time that J+S have demonstrated their capabilities to the offshore wind market.

J+S’ focus for the offshore wind market is an extension of their market leading position gained within the Wave & Tidal sector in relation to subsea electrical and fibre optic connectivity, condition monitoring and mooring verification solutions.

There was particular interest shown in the J+S protected subsea repair joint which was launched at the show. The subsea repair joint has been designed and developed specifically for the repair of subsea MV/HV, and Fibre Optic cables for offshore wind but with application in the wave & tidal and oil & gas sectors as well. Commenting on the show, Chris Napier, General Manager Marine Renewables stated: ‘It was an excellent show and I was really pleased with the interest received not only for the Subsea Repair Joint but for J+S services and products in general. This has been a great step forward in our continued development of the Marine Renewables business building on the success achieved within the Wave & Tidal sector over the last three years.’

J+S Ltd operates from sites in Barnstaple and Aberdeen, employing 136 people engaged on a range of engineering and production activities, primarily in naval support, marine renewable energy and subsea asset management for the North Sea Oil and Gas exploration markets.
