Fugro Seacore to Recover Rampion Lattice Met Mast

Operations & Maintenance

E.ON has filed an application to the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) to remove lattice met mast that collapsed at the Rampion offshore wind farm site.

The lattice met mast collapsed in 2014 and sunk to the seabed alongside the met mast platform.

Fugro Seacore, the company that installed the met mast on behalf of E.ON in 2012, will now conduct the recovery work.

In addition, the acoustic doppler current profiler unit (ADCP) will also be recovered from near the met mast platform and replaced with a new or refurbished similar unit.

Fugro Seacore will utilize a work vessel to recover the lattice met mast, with the support of ROVs and divers, and the ADCP will be recovered using the existing connection cable to the met mast structure.

The recovery operation is planned between February 2016 and July 2016, the application stated.

The work should take approximately one week on site, depending on weather conditions.
