Yamgaz awards Yamal LNG contract to AG&P

The Atlantic Gulf & Pacific Company said it has been awarded a major contract to supply critical process modules to the Yamal LNG project in Russia.

Located in Sabetta, north-east of the Yamal Peninsula, the Yamal LNG is the first LNG development venture in the Arctic.

Following a competitive tender process, Yamgaz, the consortium designing and constructing the LNG plant, selected AG&P for its high capacity, advanced modular construction capabilities, stringent safety and quality standards and previous track record of successful project delivery,” the company said in a statement.

Leveraging its world-class fabrication and assembly expertise, AG&P will deliver some of the largest LNG modules ever built, accelerating project construction and minimizing the time to commercial operation,” it added.

The Yamal project includes a liquefaction plant with a capacity of 16.5 million tons per annum. The three process trains that will make up this complex will have an annual production output of 5.5 million tons each, and are planned to be commissioned in 2016, 2017, and 2018, respectively.
