PT PLN invites prequalification for LNG supply

PT PLN (Persero) issued an invitation for prequalification for LNG supply for distributed gas power plants in the central region of Indonesia.

According to a company filing, part of the plan is to provide small and medium scale gas-fired power plants within outed Jawa regions in short term in order to solve the power supply deficit.

In the mid-term, the company intends to provide sufficient gas-powered plants to meet peak demands for energy in each region.

Company’s first step is to prequalify a firm or consortium to provide LNG supply, transportation and infrastructure for gas-fired power plants with locations within the central region of Indonesia.

The total capacity of gas-fired power plants in need of LNG supply is around 2,800 MW.

The foreign companies in diplomatic relations with Indonesia qualify for the tender but need to engage reputable Indonesian companies as member of consortium, stands in the statement.
