APPEA ready to work with new Energy minister

Following the appointment of Josh Frydenberg as the Minister for Resources and Energy, Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association voiced its readiness to work with the new ministry.

APPEA’s Chief Executive Malcolm Roberts, said that Australia has a great opportunity to convert natural gas resources into long-term prosperity.

Australia has invested $200 billion in this sector and is poised to become the leading exporter of liquefied natural gas in the world.

“The challenge for industry and governments now is to ensure that Australia stays competitive in the increasingly tough global market,” said Roberts.

He stressed that reforms to lift productivity and cut regulatory costs are essential.
