Ophir makes board changes

Ophir Energy on Wednesday revealed that it has named William Schrader chairman of the board, replacing Nicholas Smith who will retire on April 30, 2016. 

Schrader has over 30 years experience working at BP and has been on the Ophir’s board as none-executive director since February 2013, the company said in a statement.

He also serves as non-executive director at the Hess Corporation, CHC Group and Bahamas Petroleum Company.

On April 30, Schrader will take over as chairman of the nominations committee, leaving the post of chairman of the audit committee and corporate responsibility committee where he will be replaced by Carol Bell.

Additionally, Ophir’s chief financial officer Anthony Rouse has been named as the executive director with immediate effect. Rouse joined Ophir in October 2014 and brings over 30 years experience in the upstream oil and gas industry.
