More Peruvian LNG heading for Mexico

Peru’s natural gas liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped another cargo to Mexico earlier this week.

The 135,072 cbm LNG carrier Gallina was loaded and sent on its way to Mexico on Monday, September 5, data from the state-owned Perupetro reveals.

Although the exact destination of the vessel has not been confirmed in the shipping data, the probable destination is the Manzanillo LNG terminal in Mexico’s Colima state.

With the latest cargo, Peru’s LNG export facility shipped 351 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
