Santos names chairman replacement

Australian LNG player, Santos, on Monday said that Keith Spence will succeed Peter Coates as company chairman in February 2018. 

Coates said earlier this year he plans to retire from the company’s board in February 2018.

Spence, who has over 30 years of experience in oil and gas industry, following positions with Woodside and Shell, will join Santos board on January 1, 2018.

Prior to joining Santos, Spence will retire from the board of Oil Search but will remain chairman of Base Resources, a director of Independence Group and Murray and Roberts Holdings.

He was previously chair of the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority Board.
