Al Mohannadi: Qatar is an International Centre for Technological Research and Development

 

Speaking on behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Energy and Industry, Dr Mohammad Bin Saleh Al Sada at the Pumps and Pipes Conference in Doha, RasGas Managing Director and Qatar Petroleum Vice Chairman, Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi affirmed Qatar’s position as a vibrant international centre for research and development and at the forefront of technological advancements in energy and medicine.

Mr Al Mohannadi stated that holding the international conference in Doha demonstrated the development and the prominence of Qatar’s leadership in both the energy and medical fields.

Delivering the keynote speech, Mr Al Mohannadi said: “The Pumps and Pipes conference is a meaningful event for Doha as it brings together so many experts in the fields of medicine and energy to explore ways to improve and develop advanced technologies critical to everyone.”

The advancement of technology is the lifeblood of the energy and medical industries. Continuous infusion of new technology is not only key to unlocking future opportunities in these two fields, it is also key to delivering wider economic and social developments in line with His Excellency the Emir’s Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and the recently launched National Development Strategy 2011 – 2016.” he added.

Interdisciplinary research is a mainstay of innovation in technology and this fifth edition of Pumps and Pipes conference endeavours to build upon that concept, bringing together members of various sectors, including energy and medicine, to explore and innovate technologies and ideas common to their fields.

RasGas is an integral part of this year’s Pumps and Pipes conference and proactively implements the use of innovative technology to not only maintain its position as a global leader in LNG production, but also as part of its core commitment to safety and the environment and is fully committed to developing Qatar’s economy of knowledge, in keeping with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2011 – 2016.

The Pumps and Pipes conference brings together experts from various disciplines to explore the common attributes of oil and gas technology, computational sciences, cardiovascular medicine and surgery.
