Japan: Tokyo Gas Jan Sales Up YoY

Total gas sales volume by Japan’s Tokyo Gas, for the month of January 2012 came to about 1,525.900 million m3, increased by 101.186 million m3 (+7.1%) from January 2011.

In the residential sector, volume totaled 510.601 million m3, up 5.0% from January 2011.

In the business sector (consisting of commercial, public, and medical use), the volume was 289.652 million m3, up 4.4% compared to the volume in January 2011.

In the industrial sector, volume totaled about 501.335 million m3, up 12.8% from last year.

Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled about 224.312 million m3, up 3.4% from January 2011 due to increased demand of wholesale gas suppliers.

The total gas sales volume for the cumulative period of April 2011 to January 2012 was 10,896.714 million m3, down by 0.1%.
