Saipem secures two contracts with Saudi Arabia’s Aramco worth $600M

Italy’s Saipem has secured two offshore contracts in Saudi Arabia worth approximately $600 million under its existing long-term agreement with the country’s energy heavyweight Aramco.

The first contract release purchase order (CRPO) covers the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of circa 34 kilometers of pipeline, with diameters of 20” and 30″, and related works on topside structures at the Berri and Abu Safah oil fields, with a duration of 32 months.

The second one, lasting 12 months, includes subsea interventions at the Marjan field and the EPC of 300 meters of onshore pipeline and associated tie-ins.

The fabrication activities will be carried out at the company’s Saudi fabrication yard, Saipem Taqa Al-Rushaid Fabricators Co. Ltd., in Dammam, while the offshore operations are to be performed by its construction vessels currently deployed in the region.

As for other news coming from the region, Saipem earlier this month announced an EPCI assignment, in partnership with China Offshore Oil Engineering Co. (COOEC), with QatarEnergy for the North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Compression Project (NFPS COMP 5).

The contract package has an overall value of approximately $4 billion, with Saipem’s share amounting to around $3.1 billion.
